FLOTATION CLOTHES FOR WARMTH AND SAFETY ON THE WATER

En man går på bryggan med en flytväst.

Choosing the right flotation clothing makes a big difference for both safety and your experience on the water. Whether you’re fishing, sailing, or enjoying a day on a motorboat with your family, flotation clothing provides the right combination of warmth and buoyancy. A flotation suit helps keep your body temperature stable if you end up in cold water, while a flotation jacket or vest mainly keeps you warm when you’re on land or in the boat. This way, you get both safety and comfort, wherever you are.

Flotation Suit

A flotation suit covers the entire body, offering both warmth and buoyancy, making it essential for longer periods on the water or when there’s a risk of falling in. It’s approved according to EN ISO 15027-1 for thermal protection. Tests show that body temperature drops by only 1.1°C on average over two hours in 10°C water – a factor that can be critical for survival.

Note: A flotation suit does not automatically turn an unconscious person into a safe position in the water. That’s why we recommend always using it with an inflatable lifejacket to help keep the wearer in a safe position.

FLOTATION JACKET

A flotation jacket is lightweight and flexible, making it ideal for active days on the water. It keeps your upper body warm on land or in the boat, while also providing reliable buoyancy if you end up in the water. The jacket is a great choice when you need comfort and mobility without compromising safety.

FLOTATION VEST

A flotation vest is light and comfortable, making it ideal for active days on the water. It helps keep you warm and provides buoyancy if you fall into the water, while allowing you to move freely on land or in the boat.

Note: All flotation clothing is classified as buoyancy aids, not life jackets.

Fit, Care, and Durability

For best performance, flotation clothing should fit well, but not be too tight. Try it on with the clothes you plan to wear underneath.

Rinse the clothing in fresh water once a year or after getting wet. Hang to dry completely and store in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry. Check regularly that the materials and flotation elements are in good condition so it continue to function properly.

With the right flotation clothing, you get both safety and comfort all year – on the water, in the boat, or while fishing.

    • Breeze Hammar model no. 7781, 7786
    • Breeze Hammar Harness model no. 7475, 7476, 7477

However, we are closely monitoring the investigation and are in ongoing dialogue with the relevant stakeholders. A technical analysis is currently underway to determine the cause of the reported issues. At present, there is no indication that other models or markets are affected.

What you as a customer should do

    A SUSTAINABLE ADVENTURE

    A SUSTAINABLE ADVENTURE

The weekend of June 1–2 marked a significant milestone for us at Baltic. Together with Maria Cerboni and Anneli Pompe, we organized an unforgettable 24-hour adventure to launch our new product line, Environmental Initiative (E.I.) – an innovative range of sustainable life jackets setting a new standard for safety and environmental responsibility in lifesaving products.

    An Unforgettable Weekend Aboard Gratia

The adventure began for our participants at Nya Varvet in Gothenburg. There lay Gratia, a former luxury yacht now owned by the Swedish Cruising Club Sailing Schools Foundation, awaiting departure. With its rich history and charm, Gratia provided the perfect setting to showcase our new product line, E.I., in its true element.

We had a fantastic start with an introduction to the new life jacket range and a delightful lunch before hoisting the sails and creating memories for a lifetime. The sun was high, and we enjoyed an exciting afternoon of sailing and activities such as SUP, kayaking, freediving, and aqua yoga out on the sea. In the evening, we gathered again and shared the day’s experiences.

“One thing is certain after this – I will start planning more adventures and challenge myself more.” – Izabella Amelie, influencer

After a night under the stars for some of us, Sunday began perfectly with morning yoga on deck as the sun slowly rose over the horizon and the sea remained calm. The day continued with more adventure, including SUP and kayaking, before sailing back towards Gothenburg.

    Towards a Greener Future

Our launch event for Baltic E.I. was not just the introduction of a new product but also an inspiring journey highlighting the importance of sustainability and innovation in marine safety products.

At Baltic Safety Products, we have demonstrated through our Environmental Initiative that the future of life-saving products can be both safe and sustainable. By combining advanced technology with environmentally conscious material choices, Baltic has set a new standard that will impact the entire industry. The recycled life jackets reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 24% during manufacturing compared to traditional jackets made from non-recycled materials.

Participant Izabella Amelie reflected on the weekend adventure: “What a team, what a group, and what fantastic 24 hours I’ve had! One thing is certain after this – I will start planning more adventures and challenge myself more. Like before!” Being able to participate and inspire safe water experiences is an important part of our mission. This weekend aboard Gratia served as a powerful reminder that together, we can sail towards a greener and safer future.
